Emirates District Cooling (Emicool) LLC, a leading district cooling service provider in the region and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has announced it has been awarded the 2020 Dubai Chamber Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label certificate by the Dubai Chamber Centre for Responsible Business. The award demonstrates Emicool’s commitment to responsible business practices and its effort in meeting expectations towards its customers, employees, suppliers, the community, and the environment.

Emicool scored highest in the Environment impact area, where the company demonstrated responsible business practices in relation to its environmental management systems and ISO 14001 accreditation. Among the other strengths in this impact, the area includes Emicool’s energy management in relation to its ISO 50001 certification; water management policy in relation to its ISO 46001:2019 water efficiency certification; and sustainable transport systems that have resulted in a reduction of 135.5 tons of CO2 in 2020 alone.

Emicool was also recognized for its fair and responsible retention practices in line with its well-developed employee training and development policies. The company demonstrated responsible employee welfare practices with its business continuity plan, and responsible customer and supplier relationship practices exemplified by its supplier scorecards and customer feedback.
